th edition of HORECA, the region’s hospitality and food event, was launched during a press conference held under the patronage Fadi Abboud, the Lebanese minister of tourism on February 15 at Phoenicia Hotel Beirut. Association and syndicate presidents from the hospitality industry expressed their continued support as the new activities and plans for the coming show were announced.
With 90% of the space already reserved, Joumana Dammous-Salamé, managing director of Hospitality Services, the show’s organizers, announced that apart from the increase in demand, “HORECA 2012 will be an occasion for industry professionals from the region to gather under one roof, network and checkout the competition”.
Salamé thanked all HORECA’s partners and sponsors for reinforcing their conviction and making the show what it is today. HORECA, which will take place 20 – 23 March at Beirut’s BIEL, will host more than 350 exhibitors from France, Iran, Italy, Jordan, KSA, Poland, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Turkey and UAE. As usual local and international chefs will participate and preside the Hospitality Salon Culinaire with its 15 categories and over 200 cooks representing well-known establishments.
In recognition to the Lebanese media, which have been following HORECA over the years, a Press Award was distributed.
The press conference was followed by a brunch at hotel’s Eau de Vie restaurant.
